Preparing for Your Visit
A little preparation helps the consultation move faster and lets the doctor spend more time on your questions. The sections here cover each stage of care, from your first visit through to recovery at home.
Please bring all available medical records related to the present concern. These may help the doctor understand the condition and avoid unnecessary repetition of investigations.
- Previous prescriptions and consultation notes
- Laboratory reports
- Ultrasound, X-ray, CT or MRI reports and images
- Antenatal scan reports, where applicable
- Discharge summaries from earlier hospital admissions
- Details of previous surgery or treatment
- A list of current medicines and known allergies
The doctor will review the patient's history, symptoms, reports and clinical findings. Additional tests may be advised when necessary. Patients and parents are encouraged to ask questions about the diagnosis, treatment options, need for surgery, hospital stay, recovery and follow-up.
If admission or surgery is advised, the hospital team will provide instructions regarding fasting, medicines, documents, admission time and items to bring. Follow the instructions exactly, particularly those related to food, liquids and regular medicines before anaesthesia.
Follow the written instructions regarding medicines, food, wound care, activity and follow-up appointments. Contact the hospital if the patient develops persistent fever, repeated vomiting, breathing difficulty, increasing pain, unusual swelling, bleeding, reduced urine output or any symptom specifically mentioned by the doctor.
Eligible patients may receive support under applicable government health schemes, subject to the hospital's current empanelment, scheme approval and the rules in force at the time of treatment.
Patients seeking scheme support should bring their identification documents, scheme card or eligibility documents, previous medical reports and any referral or approval papers available to them. The hospital team will provide general guidance regarding the process.
