Hypospadias
Specialised evaluation and hypospadias surgery in Guntur, planned according to the type of condition and the child's individual needs.
What Is Hypospadias?
Hypospadias is a congenital condition in which the urinary opening is located on the underside of the penis rather than at the tip. The foreskin and the shape of the penis may also differ. The severity depends on the position of the opening and the presence of curvature.
Why Is Specialist Assessment Needed?
A paediatric urology assessment helps determine the type of hypospadias and whether surgery is recommended. Treatment aims can include creating an opening near the tip, correcting curvature and supporting normal urination and future function.
Parents should avoid circumcision before specialist assessment because the foreskin may be useful during repair in some children.
Hypospadias Treatment
Surgery is planned according to the location of the urinary opening, degree of curvature, available tissue and any previous procedures. Some repairs can be completed in one operation, while complex or previously operated cases may require staged treatment. The surgeon explains catheter care, wound care and follow-up before discharge.
